A standard component on most EOE conversion presses, Prime Controls’ Double Shell and Missing Tab detection system has inspected nearly every can end in the world. The SD230 FLEX and SD230 MINI is the same great control customers have trusted for decades with added features and flexibility.

The dual-function, fully configurable SD230 FLEX replaces variations of SD200 Series units, simplifying customer inventory requirements. Users can quickly and easily change the configuration to any dual-channel detector function via DIP switch settings. When configured for double shell/missing tab, the infeed (shell) outputs energize for single end, double end and fault conditions. The system also features new multi-color LEDS for a more intuitive status notification along with dual three-digit LED displays that report relative thickness, probe signal strength, and diagnostic fault conditions.

The SD230 MINI saves space in the control panel compared to traditional dual-probe, non-contacting double shell and missing tab detectors for conversion presses. It’s vertical, DIN-rail mounting lends for a dramatically reduced footprint while offering ease and flexibility for operators. The SD230 MINI also includes the added features of the SD230 FLEX.
