Inside the Balancer: The Discharge Section

This video highlights the Discharge Section of the Balancer, which is responsible for supplying shells from storage back into the production line. This section ensures that shells exit the Balancer in a controlled, continuous flow, keeping downstream operations running efficiently.

How the Discharge Section Works

  1. Shell Transfer to Discharge
    • The pick-up head delivers groups of shells (also known as “sticks” of shells) from storage to the Discharge Section.
  2. Discharge Components
    • The Discharge Section is comprised of:
      • Discharge lanes and blowers – These guide and assist the shells as they exit.
      • Trap door assemblies – These hold and release shells into the next phase of production.
  3. Sequenced Delivery of Shells
    • Once a discharge lane is clear, the trap door assembly opens to release the next set of shells.
    • This ensures that shells exit the Balancer smoothly and without interruption.
