Overview of the Palletizer Process

This video provides an overview of the Palletizer and its role in preparing finished cans for delivery.

The Palletizer stacks finished cans onto pallets for shipment to customers. The materials used to stabilize and protect these pallets during shipping are referred to as "Dunnage." Dunnage plays a critical role in ensuring that full pallets of cans remain secure and undamaged during transportation.

Pallets are designed with layers of cans, separated by sheets known as separator sheets, slip sheets, or layer pads. This design facilitates easy de-palletizing at the customer's location, allowing for efficient unloading.

Cans are conveyed into the Palletizer, where they are directed into the Pattern Former, also known as the Laner. The Pattern Former arranges the cans into a specific pattern to ensure they arrive at the Stagger Head tightly nested, with no gaps or missing cans in each layer.

Once the cans are arranged, they are divided into sections, which will form each layer of the pallet stack. The Stagger Head Assembly then removes or rearranges rows of cans as needed, completing the palletization process.
