Trimmer Infeed Styles and Machine Operation
This video explains the processes and concepts involved in the operation of the Trimmer, focusing on how cans are trimmed and prepared for further processing.
Trimmer infeeds can vary, with cans being delivered either vertically to the turret or from the side. Infeed starwheels separate the cans and transfer them to the main turret for processing.
As cans move through the Trimmer, the top edge is trimmed. The trimmed top edge, known as the trim ring, is then directed towards the scrap system for recycling.
The main turret is responsible for transitioning the cans from the infeed to the discharge, where they exit with a smooth, uniform top edge.
