Vacuum Transfer Overview

This video explains the Vacuum Transfer, a device used in can manufacturing to remove tipped cans from the production line, ensuring only upright cans continue through the process.

Why is a Vacuum Transfer Needed?

  1. Line Stoppages Can Cause Unstable Can Packs
    • After a line stoppage, when production restarts, the first group of cans entering the Washer may lack proper support.
  2. Water Blast Causes Tipped Cans
    • In the Washer, high-pressure water sprays the cans. If cans are not tightly packed, they may tip over, disrupting the flow and potentially causing jams.

How the Vacuum Transfer Works

  1. Detecting and Removing Tipped Cans
    • The Vacuum Transfer identifies and removes tipped cans before they enter the Washer.
  2. Allowing Only Upright Cans to Continue
    • The system ensures that only properly oriented cans remain on the line, preventing operational issues and maintaining production efficiency.
