Can Transfer Process from Washer to Dryer

After completing the washing process, cans are efficiently transferred to the dryer using a Vacuum Transfer Unit (VTU). This system minimizes contamination during the transfer.

Vacuum Transfer Unit (VTU) Operation

The VTU transports cans from the washer conveyor to the dryer conveyor. An integrated conveyor line control system ensures that the washer, dryer, and VTU belts operate at the correct speeds.

The VTU utilizes fans to create suction within the vacuum box, allowing the overhead conveyor to lift the cans from the washer conveyor and transport them toward the dryer oven conveyor. This method effectively reduces the amount of washing liquid that can potentially travel from the can washer to the dryer oven.

Cross Conveyor Functionality

Beneath the transfer unit, a cross conveyor is positioned between and perpendicular to the washer conveyor and the dry-off oven conveyor. This cross conveyor is responsible for removing any inverted or damaged cans that may not be picked up by the transfer unit. It redirects these cans to a recycling container, ensuring that only properly cleaned and intact cans proceed to the drying stage.
