Can Line Accumulation: Use in Can Manufacturing

This video, created in collaboration with Roeslein, focuses on can line accumulation systems, explaining why they are needed and how they are used in the can manufacturing process.

Accumulation systems are typically used to store Brite Cans—silver, straight-walled cans produced by the Front End of the line before they reach the Decorator.

In order to maximize production, it’s important for the can line to keep running. When the Back End of the line shuts down for tasks such as a label change (which requires shutting down the Decorator), the Front End can continue production if an accumulation system is in place.

During these stoppages, the Front End sends Brite Cans to the accumulation system, which, in this video, is a Spiral Conveyor sold by Roeslein. This system temporarily stores the cans until the Back End restarts.

Once the Back End is operational again, the stored Brite Cans are released back into the production line, making room for future stoppages and keeping production efficient.
