Why is Deco Inspection Needed?
This video, created in collaboration with Antares Vision Group, explains the role of in-line Deco Inspection in can manufacturing, focusing on the Orion G6 Deco Inspection system.
High-speed decorators operate at speeds of 1,000 cans per minute or faster, making it essential to detect and address any deco defects quickly. Even small issues in decoration can result in a large number of defective cans in a short time. If these defective cans are not rejected, they will end up on pallets, which will need to be placed in HFI (Held For Inspection) status.
Deco Inspection systems, like the Orion G6, use vision inspection to identify these defective cans as they move through the line. Once identified, the system removes defective cans from the conveyor using air blow-off valves, ensuring only high-quality cans continue through the production process.
