With a range of oils, aluminum types, and can sizes, can makers need the ability to program exact and repeatable oil amounts for their specific can style. The Apex™ features a simple, user-friendly touchscreen, letting users program the precise amount of oil needed for their operation. Consistent cup weights are key to success, and the Apex™ delivers with its electronically-controlled positive-displacement pump. This ensures precise and repeatable oil volumes are applied to the coil, regardless of oil viscosity. Combined with built-in safety alerts for any deviations in oil output, the Apex™ provides peace of mind that production will stay on track.

Apex System

The Apex™ system enhances Unist’s trusted Uni-Roller® technology by incorporating an electronically-controlled, positive-displacement pump for precise and consistent lubrication of coil stock. This pump maintains accurate lubricant volumes, unaffected by changes in fluid viscosity, ensuring reliable application regardless of ambient temperature. The system’s PLC-based controls simplify setup, troubleshooting, and monitoring, with the added convenience of ethernet connectivity for both local and remote operation. Designed to apply lubricant to both sides of the coil stock, the Apex™ system utilizes Unist’s patented internally-fed Uni-Roller® technology for dependable and uniform lubrication performance.

Uni-Roller S2

Equally important to controlling and delivering lubricant is how it’s applied to the coil stock. The Uni-Roller® is trusted by can makers worldwide for its ability to provide consistent, smooth application day after day. With its internally-fed roller design, the Uni-Roller® achieves clean and uniform coating results. Film weights as low as 15-20 mg/ft² [161-215 mg/m²] can be applied reliably. The updated Uni-Roller® S2 simplifies maintenance tasks like changing roller covers, making upkeep faster and more efficient.
